When applying for accessing to the data, I am asked for the ICO registration number?
What is the ICO number? Where can I obtain this number?

This is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) registration number https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/
Legally data controllers are required to register with the ICO, and the organisation will receive an ICO registration number as part of this process.

As David mentioned the ICO provides a registration number for organisations who are data controllers. You can lookup your organisation’s registration number here - https://ico.org.uk/ESDWebPages/Search
