Reliable prognostic models for COVID-19 have been identified by clinicians working in secondary care as tools which would have considerable clinical utility. If found to perform well, these models can be rapidly integrated into existing electronic medical records systems (such as PICS at UHB) and used by clinicians as decision support tools. The models will provide better understanding of risk factors for severe outcomes. The prognostic tools will support clinicians in distinguishing between patients who are most at risk, thereby providing opportunities for early intervention, and those who can be safely discharged. This will help to ensure the best use of limited hospital resources and may lead to improved patient outcomes. This project is being conducted by researchers at the University of Birminghajm who recieved UKRI funds to conduct the (continuing ) analysis
